It’s the End of the World as We Know It and I Feel Fine 2010 Edition
June 6th 2010 12:53
There is something to be said about a society that continues to spin in the same direction no matter the consequences.
The direction towards division, destruction and a lack of regard for the long term outlook that will come from the fruits of the actions we take in the here and now.
The here and now where politicians have prophesized about people from different cultures and political ideologies coming together for the greater good to fix the damage that has been and continues to be done.
The damage that has not only become blatantly apparent through images that can not be ignored but will now become even more of issue if we do not heed the warnings that were put on the table long before the idea of Democracy and Freedom were conceptualized in the cultures the United States of America Government modeled itself after.
Ideas that were a road map to serve as a bedrock for great societies in times of crisis where it took more than one great mind or a group of great minds to fix a problem that was bigger than any single nation.
The problems I’m speaking of can not be contained into a conversation about one cataclysmic oil spill or a worldwide economic collapse.
The conversation the world needs to have is about getting past our egocentric divisions within our religious beliefs, genders, nationalities, races and sexual preferences to see the big picture.
The big picture of famine that exists in every nation across the globe, the degradation of the world’s food supply, the loss of our humanity as a race of people towards each other and the animals we share this planet with along with the destruction of the earth when an energy crisis surmounts the call for common sense to ensure that cataclysmic disasters do not keep repeating themselves.
We all know the dangers that come when safety measures are not taken when harnessing the power of natural resources like oil, coal and nuclear power but long after the oil is cleaned up, the mines are closed and the nuclear disaster is forgotten we forget to learn from our mistakes.
Mistakes from not allowing the processes that were put into place from first hand knowledge be the primary concern.
Mistakes by blindly throwing our hands up in the air and saying that we learned our lesson from disasters instead of actually instituting policies that are enforced by the proper authorities.
Mistakes by not taking the bull by the horns as a world society and allowing these things to happen over and over again.
From the Mayans to Greeks to Nostradamus, to the Aztecs to the Egyptians to the many other great philosophers, foreseers and civilizations that were ahead of their time in astronomy, math and philosophy the story remains the same.
The story of a world society that is destined to tear itself apart from its own devices…
As much as I would love nothing more than for us to prove them wrong as a society; the signs all point to a lack of regard in heeding the warnings which will only add more chapters to what we were foretold was our destiny.
If change is going to come it has to be now and has to be something more than a campaign pitch or another politician’s call to pick one set of drapes cut from the same cloth over the other.
Change has to come from within society as a whole by changing the way we look at the things we eat, the way we perceive our individual role in the world and how we react to the actions of our elected officials.
No matter how much of a money game the election process becomes it will always be the people who have the final say in deciding the men and women who service any Democratic Nation.
Any process that begins and ends with the people will always have power centered in their hands.
If it is truly the end of the world as we know it…
It will be the people who have final say in the state of the world that is destroyed and it will be the people who have final say in the new world that is created.

Politics and Culture
Khalfani King
Oldies but Goodies From Campaign 08
My name is Khalfani King and I am an independent citizen who took his own personal adversity as a chance to harness his own voice. A voice built from the radicalism of a society that tries to bind us into boxes of black and white instead of facing the honest realities of the shades of gray that is tearing our world apart.
To answer your questions:
I see modern politics as a huge mess.
A huge mess focused more on the things that make us different as free thinking individuals rather than the things that should be bringing us together. What we have gained is a failed economy, calls for unlawful wars, finger pointing, a deteriorating environment and a loss of control in the highest levels of government because of the special interests and PAC’s who now have a greater voice than the people.
The problem is from both sides of the aisle. As long as the two major parties control the game there will never be any true changes in Washington.
As far as President Obama goes…
I felt and still feel that he was the right man at the right time to make America feel better about the situation we’re in.
The situation where we all have an acute understanding about the dark nature of society with social, racial and religious division.
Obama was a breath of fresh air who said all the right things and helped Americans from all sides of the conversation believe that we could finally get it right.
Words and actions are two completely separate beasts and we got what we asked for.
The same party politics that transfers from President to President much like the traditions of the Oval Office with the only change being that the power shifted from Right to Left.
The Left didn’t live up to their side of the bargain as they became just as drunk with power as the Bush Administration and the sessions of Congress that came before them.
I truly can’t hate the player because it was among the greatest political campaigns in history.
In order for us to achieve true change we need to focus on the game and ask ourselves why there are only two party controlled voices of extremes that dictate the direction of a nation built on the tenants of having the voices of the people represented by our elected officials.
The voices of the people can not be boxed into a Left and Right conversation.
On religion, my philosophy is to each’s own.
The United States Constitution dictates that every man, woman and child has the right to worship or not worship any God or Deity they so choose.
Religion has no place in government as a tool of enforcement but it also an important part of our culture. A balance needs to be discovered to reinforce the separation of church and state.
Hope this answers your questions.
I’m looking forward to hearing your feedback.
Thanks for reading and subcribing
