David Hicks has now spent 5 years in Guantanamo Bay being held in extreme conditions with many of his basic human rights denied.
He has had no trial and has seen every British citizen held there returned to there home country while his government sits on its hands and watches it happen.
What does the Australian Government do?
They let him rot like a caged animal and they dare to preach to us about a fall in Australian values.
Are we such a subservient to the mighty USA they we can allow them to trample all over any rights a fellow Australian should be entitled to?
Whatever happened to the so-called "mateship" and "a fair go"?
If we had an American detained without trial and kept in virtual solitary confinement for 5 years do you think the U.S. would standby and watch this happen.
How can Howard and Ruddock sleep at night?
Phillip Ruddock our Attorney-general admitted today he has not even seen the brief of evidence against Hicks.
This is a total outrage and heads should roll but it seems Australians are prepared to be the toilet bowl of the USA and they can shit all over any Australian they please.
