When you meet someone better than yourself, turn your thoughts to becoming his equal. When you meet someone not as good as you are, look within and examine your own self.

In this vast world there are many things we may never have an answer to in this life time…
When faced with these voids that defy common logic we have the choice of either living life for ourselves, by ignoring the pain and suffering of others, or we can look within to build a unique awareness that goes beyond protecting our own self interests.
Among these taboo subjects is the conversation of combating the choke hold that HIV and AIDS have on our society.
Decades passed before our world leaders would even acknowledge this silent killer that was thrown on the backburner as something associated with social sin.
Classified as a disease that only plagued people of a certain social class or race, intravenous drug users and homosexuals; research for finding a cure is still decades behind schedule as billions of people across the globe from every continent, religious order, nation, age, race, gender and sexual orientation have fallen victim to it’s clutches.
Combating an epidemic of this proportion has to go somewhere beyond simple gestures of protecting ourselves from contracting the HIV virus by use of a condom during all aspects of sexual intercourse and distribution of clean needles for intravenous drug users.
The spread of this disease has been a product of our own ignorance as our society has chosen to turn her nose up at the problem instead of banding together to find a cure.
The reaction has continued to be one of finding fault with those who have contracted the disease from behavior that is considered outside of the norm while we ignore stories of children who inherit the same disorder for doing nothing more than being born.
The focus of thinking people within the human race should be squarely on education, awareness and finding a cure for breaking the cycle that has been created where the rich are the only ones who have access to best drugs that prevent the HIV virus from doing the switch over to the beast known as AIDS.
The beast that performs a complete shut down of the immune system and shows no mercy to any man woman or child regardless of how they lived their life.
We can not continue to sit on our hands while people in third world countries rely on practices of tribal medicine by performing acts like having sex with virgin children to eliminate this fatal killer that is wiping out communities across the globe.
Awareness comes when we take the message to the people without judgment, prejudice or malice.
In this new era of human existence the stakes are higher than ever and the problems of one country are no longer a national or continental issue.
We are one world community meaning that the ignorance of one nation can quickly become the next pandemic on a world stage.
With this stark reality it is important for us, as a world society, to band together and perform the acts of benevolence that need to be done to help our fellow man, woman and child.
In order to reach this higher state of conciseness we need to drop our banners of political affiliation, religion, regionalism, race, gender and pre-existing notions of what we think the world is.
Open minds are the only weapons needed for this battle in the greater war and I know this ability to think outside of our boxes exists in the hearts and minds of every world citizen.
In these times of crisis we latch onto the basics within our own lives and forget the problems of the outside world.
The problems never go away by ignoring them and simply laying the finger of blame on individuals instead of examining the whole situation will not get us any closer to a solution or a cure.
