Politics and Culture - American Profiles In Radical Independence

“I do not want my house to be walled in on all sides and my windows to be stuffed. I want the cultures of all the lands to be blown about my house as freely as possible. But I refuse to be blown off my feet by any.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Save The Ta Ta’s Pub Happy Hour: A Night of Celebration in The Fight Against Breast Cancer

August 28th 2009 12:00
Stories of the power that lies within the human spirit have been passed down from generation to generation as we have all watched the good things that come when the average citizen commits to helping their fellow man, woman and child.

Help that begins with the simple decision to take action and transforms into international phenomenon’s that have no limit in the impact they can have on a cause or changing the lives of a family or individual.

It is with this spirit that we are inviting each and every one of you to join hands in celebration tomorrow night at Firkin & Bulldog in Stafford, VA for the Save The Ta Ta’s Pub Happy Hour to kick off Awareness Event 2009.

A series of events that began with a decision much like the one’s that spawned so many concerts, telethons and fundraising activities of yesteryear bringing together Americans from every walk of life.

The celebration that will occur tomorrow night is designed to shed light and raise money to fight the faceless killer that has affected each and every man, woman and child on the planet.

Breast Cancer is a disease that needs our immediate attention by way of coming together in nights like these to celebrate the cause of eradicating this disease and to raise funds for the groups at the forefront of the fight.

Support of the cause that lit the flame behind the spirit of tomorrow night’s activities may have began with a group of women who made the decision to walk for a cure but it’s success has and will always be in hands of each and every one of you.

The compassion within our hearts is the true driving force in solving some of life’s greatest problems and tackling issues that do not have immediate answers.

As a reward for your generosity we have enlisted the very best in entertainment in the form of two local bands who have donated their time and energy to helping Team Bras For A Cause go above and beyond fundraising goals they must meet to be able to participate in the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Three Day Walk in Philadelphia Pennsylvania.

DUI and Proof by Assertion will rock the stage at Firkin & Bulldog in Stafford, VA with a double billed show that begins at 10:00 pm.

A special treat because this philanthropic event will not have a cover charge or age limits.

Working side by side with these bands will also be a $5.00 and $20.00 raffle of items that have been donated from the local community in the form of gift certificates from restaurants and a summer essentials kits that includes a cooler, chairs and mini grill.

All proceeds from the raffle will benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure and National Philanthropic Trust helping to fund important breast cancer research, education, screening, and treatment.

Please check out the links provided below to get a better sense of the passion behind the Awareness Event and the causes that have created a call to action which began right here in the local community but will not end until the hearts and minds of the nation have answered with a reply.
