Politics and Culture - American Profiles In Radical Independence

“I do not want my house to be walled in on all sides and my windows to be stuffed. I want the cultures of all the lands to be blown about my house as freely as possible. But I refuse to be blown off my feet by any.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Save The Ta Ta’s Awareness Rock Show II Official Announcement

July 30th 2009 12:00
When brought face to face with adversity we have the choice between forgetting our original reasons for fighting and standing fast in the creation of new opportunities in the sweet race towards the finish line in the accomplishment of our original goals.

~Khalfani A King

From beginning to the sweet end every step in the process of creating and executing the Awareness Event Series has been a roller coaster ride of twists and turns.

Twist and turns that have brought us face to face with stories of survival, celebration and what it truly means to fight.

If there’s one thing we have never lost it is that instinct to fight that was brought into the creation of these events from all the people we are looking to directly support through our fundraising activities.

One short week ago the announcement was made that Rude Buddha was no longer a band which sent shockwaves up and down all five events in the Awareness Event Series.

When faced with this news we had the choice of pushing forward in the execution of this event or to lay down in defeat when faced with the choice of cancellation.

The call to raise money in the fight to eradicate Breast Cancer was too important of a cause to simply lie down and quit and after careful negotiations I am proud to bring you this ground shaking announcement.

The Save the Ta Ta’s Awareness Rock Show II is now a double band Mega Show featuring a pair of national acts well known in the DC region and beyond.

Opening up the show at Buffalo Wild Wings in Fredericksburg, VA at 10:00 pm on September 18th, 2009 will be a group created from the band formerly known as Rude Buddha.

Black White Radio will be throwing down an acoustic set with songs familiar to fans of Rude Buddha as well as new tunes that will be taken on a national tour to introduce the world to this creation.

The featured act of the Save the Ta Ta’s Awareness Rock Show II is coming back home to Fredericksburg, VA fresh off of playing dates on the Warped Tour 2009 concert series.

With Haste is a DC based band that is nationally known for their unique sound that rocked arenas and stadiums across the nation throughout Summer 2009.

For all of those within the area I am encouraging you to make it out to this event to not only get a great show you will never forget but to also support the cause of this group of women who have given up mind, body and soul to fight Breast Cancer.

Your continuing support is appreciated and I am looking forward to meeting many of you in person along with continuing the fight for the cure well after With Haste has closed out the Awareness Event Series.
