Awareness Event Series 2010: Annual Series of Events to Raise Money and Awareness for Worthy Causes

The concept that began as a simple idea to think outside of the box to help worthy causes is back with a second annual series of events to bring helping hands together.
Helping hands to support the causes of supporting men, women and children get back on their feet again during tough times and joining the fight against Pediatric Cancer.
As many of you know, Awareness Event Series 2009 was a call to action against Breast Cancer and a benefit to raise money, supplies and Awareness for a Fredericksburg Area Full Service Residential Homeless Shelter.
In this year’s fundraising campaign our plan is to carry this same spirit of philanthropy into 2010 with three events devoted to spreading the word about the cause of helping families and improving the quality of life for children with Pediatric Cancer while also continuing the fundraising campaign for the Thurman Brisben Center.
On September 10, 2010 between 10:00pm and 1:30am at Smokey Bones Bar and Fire Grill Located at 1801 Carl D. Silver Parkway Fredericksburg, VA we will be kicking off this campaign with an Awareness Dance Party to gather the community together in support of the Thurman Brisben Center.
On this day we are asking each and every member of the community to come out in support of the cause in a night of celebration featuring music and dancing.
To support the efforts of raising money and awareness for the only full service residential Fredericksburg Area Homeless Shelter a $10.00 cover charge will be in place that can be reduced to $5.00 with the donation of two canned food items or articles of clothing.
Following this event on the evening of September 11, 2010 at Cheeseburger in Paradise located at 1811 Carl D. Silver Parkway Fredericksburg, VA there will be a free all age’s extravaganza as we bring back the Reggae Benefit Show to support the efforts of the Thurman Brisben Center.
Featured at this event will be Fredericksburg Area Reggae Artists Sons of Solomon who will be rocking the house between 8:00pm and Midnight.
We are encouraging the entire community to come out this event and bring cash donations, food or clothing to help men, women and children in need of our support.
All proceeds from your donations at this event will go directly to the Thurman Brisben Center in their efforts to help men, women, children and families in need during one of the toughest economic periods in American history.
The closing event of Awareness Event Series 2010 will take place at Bailey’s Pub & Grille located at 16738 Carl D. Silver Parkway Fredericksburg, VA the night of September 18, 2010.
This event is the third edition of the Fifteen Minutes of Fame Charity Show featuring a talent contest that blends together elements of dance, comedy, karaoke, original artists, acoustic artists and any other talents that can be brought to the stage.
On this night we will be raising money and awareness for Carter’s Crusader’s, a Fredericksburg Area non-profit organization dedicated to raising money and awareness in the fight against all forms of pediatric cancer.
This event will begin with an invitation to any and all talents in the Fredericksburg Area and beyond to take the stage at any of the Exophonic Entertainment Events across the Region to display their talents.
A select few will be hand chosen for the finals where they will compete for prizes and fame.
At the end of the night only one person will still be standing as 15 Minutes of Fame Champion and this person will earn this by having the most money donated towards their name.
Money that will be donated directly to Carter’s Crusader’s to help families in need during the most difficult time any mother, father, sister, brother or friend can face.
Also featured at this event will be a dance party, cash prize winning raffles and karaoke.

It is our duty to help when we can and there is no better way to help than to do so by going out to have a good time while also helping a worthy cause.
