It’s the Jobs Stupid!!!!!
September 18th 2011 12:32
In the midst of the worst economic crisis in American history the urgency of the situation has never been greater than it is right now.
The idea men are running out ideas and panic has shaken the confidence of a nation that once prided itself on being too big for these things to happen to them.
The problems that come with passing failed ideas down from one generation to the next now rests on the shoulders of elected representatives in Congress and the Oval Office while the pain felt by American citizens that continue to lose their jobs by the hour and the growing number of citizens unable to find employment adds to an already epidemic catastrophe.
What could once be passed off as a problem fixed by Republican or Democratic strategies is now understood to be an issue that needs the attention of every American citizen no matter their political affiliation.
When Humpty Dumpty fell off the wall the wolves seized the opportunity to settle old scores instead of doing what needed to be done for the people of the United States of America.
For every stimulus package, health care initiative, fight over extending unemployment benefits and partisan push to pass plans without doing what it takes to seek compromised solutions in a divided Congress; more and more citizens have been forced to watch the “American Dream” move further and further away from their reach on a daily basis.
Through all the politicking, posturing and waving of party banners the American people have gained a deeper understanding of the things that need to be done.
Things that are about more than simply passing a bill because the President of the United States of America says it “Needs to Passed” but an understanding that is about the need to dig deeper if we are going to ever find long term solutions for a mess that is bigger than anyone could have imagined.
If we are to get the United States of America back on her feet again it has to begin with a new way of thinking.
A way of thinking that is more about the people as opposed to making the men and women the Constitution of the United States of America was created for a secondary consideration.
Both sides of the power structure are guilty of this.
Guilty of assuming that creating a “Wild Wild West” atmosphere for businesses to make their own rules will be the solution.
Guilty for assuming that simply throwing money at the situation or printing more bills will revive our credit stature among the global community.
Guilty of using elements of distraction in the creation of enemies in the name of religion, race, gender and political points of view we choose not to understand to gain the upper hand in conversations about what needs to be done.
Business will always be the backbone of the United States of America but it is the relationship between every record breaking political campaign and the poor decisions that have lead the United States of America to the edge of the cliff that needs to be examined.
Solutions are easy to come by in a time of crisis but the problems that have been created on top of other problems from the same recycled solutions have brought us to a place where our political leaders have to do something different.
What we need is change but change cannot begin until we come together and demand our political leadership to enact it.
Change that is about more than cheerleading for the home team without asking the tough questions and falling into the routine of saying “no” without listening to what’s being said.
There is too much to lose if we do nothing and the prosperity of this and future generation’s is too important for us to keep making short sighted decisions.
The United States of America has always worked best when we work together for the greater good.
There has never been a more important time in the history of the United States of America for us to remember this simple fact in our nation’s darkest hour.
If we choose to stay divided the few will get their wish of having majorities and super majorities in Congress and the Oval Office to the further detriment of an already fragile infrastructure.
A nation that is divided into many parts will become even more so as solutions for the greater good will take a back seat to solutions that benefit Corporate America no matter the cost and the “Big Two” Political Parties even more.
The United States of America is a nation created for the people by the people of the United States of America.
It is the duty of every generation to protect these inalienable rights for their and future generations.
When we take our eyes off the big picture we allow these rights and everything built by the blood, sweat and tears of those who came before to slowly chip away.

Oldies but Goodies From Campaign 08
Awareness is key in every aspect of life.
Without it, we are doomed as individuals and as a society.
Thanks for highlighting this important part of the conversation.
