Defining John McCain
May 16th 2008 15:47
It was only yesterday when I heard a man give an inspirtational speech.
This man spoke to my political heart and soul about both Republicans and Democrats working together within the halls of the White House, the Senate and House Floors for the betterment of the American people and our nation.
This man spoke about changing the way we do business in the Party Political system and remarked on his history of bringing people with different political beliefs and ideals into cohesive groups built upoin the theme of compromise.

Some reading this may have clicked away the page and disregarded it as a stump speech from Barack Obama but these words of wisdom were from The Preumptive Republican Nominee John McCain.
The very same McCain who who kept kicking the door of the Christian right with his reputation as a Maverick and threatned to overthrow their "chosen" canidate who ran on a platform of bringing Decency and Christian ideals back to the White House.
The McCain that spoke to me was the man who formed coalitions in the Senate that included both Democrats and Republicans to tackle issues like Immigration and Election Reform. John McCain has built a career on the ideals of getting beyond Party Politics and not walking the party line in both the high and low points of his career.
McCain is the perfect canidate to form the Republican party in a change year as he is a contrast from predeccesors that have represented his political party in the past. This man has spent a career butting heads with his party elders and has played the role of outcast, position of number 2 when it came time for him to lead his party into the 21st century and a luke warm coronation when inaugarated as the party represenative.
While a man like McCain is the kind of canidate our country needs to lead our nation he also faces many challenges in terms of party line thought and action.
McCain's core beliefs of unity and changing the political spectrum of Washington DC must run side by side with various independent factions of racial politics, divide and conquer and God & Guns strategies that have gotten every Republican into office for 3 Decades.
If McCain fights his battles from the middle he can take on Obama for the same constituancies that have given him millions of dollars through the belief that our divisions are the reason why our country is in the sad shape it is in today.
When tackling our major problems of the War, Economy and issues with Energy it harkens back to the same problems of an inadequate usage of a pristine form of government.
The tenants of our constitution were formed to offer represenation to the people of all corners of our vast nation.
A million voices yelling and screaming for "their individual" ideals to be accomplished would portray what's happening in the halls of our legislative branch of Government.
The factioning of political parties hasn't made us better but in turn has made things more convenient.
Convenience should never be misconstrued for better because the sleakness and shiny cover leaves holes, rust and bitterness to what will eventually become a broken system.
Our broken system has been exploited by special interests who have polluted waters in a conquer strategy.
While I find it a Maverick idea for a canidate to run on the tenants of direct support from the American People and not on the money of corporations who are treated like individuals the special interests will always play a role in Congressional and ExecutiveLegislation.
In our system of open trade & democracy individual companies have as much to lose as the average American on bad legislation and our government not looking out for their interests.
They have a right to be their but not as much as constituants who were put into this job directly from votes by American Citizens who are the Employers of our Congressman & President who have the job of marginailazing the needs of business compared with the needs of our nation's people.
While both canidates have philosophical differences on dealing with America's most important issues like the War, Fixing The Economy, America's Role In The World, Appointing Supreme Court Judges and Keeping A Strong & Healthy Nation it is clear to me that no matter who the winner is in November a clear change is going to occur in the Oval Office.
This change is going to lead to an open minded leader who is willing to embrace a Congress that has different political ideals than his own.
This change will be fueled with pragmatical thinking in the appointment of judges and on a national stage and dealing with our enemies abroad.
This change will bring a new tone to how we elect our officials and how our represenatives treat each other and we will also be able to do the work that needs to be done with our enviorment and all the animals we share this Earth with.
Hearing this speech from McCain yesterday put a smile on my face and I'm hoping his statements of appointing only judges from the Far Right was only a method of appeasment from the members of his party that are sitting on the fence between Bob Barr and the Liberatarin Party.
The reason why McCain is still losing votes from America's Heartland and the South after locking up the nomination is not from his faults as a weak canidate but from the splintering within his own Party.
McCain will have to bend and sway to keep these key voting blocks within the fray. My only hope is that on inaguration day America inagurates the John McCain with open thinking in appointing Judges that answer directly to the words in the Constitution, will end the war if it is getting us nowhere without a solution and will answer to the voices of the American people and not the hot button political party topic or the Special Interests who didn't receive a single vote to represent the American People.
In a perfect world the canidates would honor the originial proscess for selecting a Vice President where by the person in second place would become Second in Command as I feel both canidates share the same core beliefs but the Party System rules the day and will contunue to sour our political proscess until two Presidential Canidates representing the Major Parties can finally rise above it and take a stand for the bettermen t of our nation....
