Breast Cancer Awareness “Pink Out” Official Announcement
January 22nd 2010 09:24
After nine events and over $6,000.00 raised for worthy causes, the time has come to bring the Awareness Event Movement back to the beginning.
The beginning that started with a simple fight...
A simple fight, to take on a worldwide epidemic that has affected the lives of millions of families across the globe and forever changed the lives of men and women who have had to combat the disease known as Breast Cancer.
In this month of Awareness we’re taking a step back from the big promotions, glamour, sponsorship, big venues, models, bands and other marketing campaigns that went into our philosophy of blending together the best in entertainment with the heart of philanthropy.
In the month of February, we’re taking the conversation back to the grassroots level in an effort to apply direct action to help a Fredericksburg, VA Area Citizen in the personal fight against Cancer.
In order to affectively help her in the fight we need help from the hearts and minds of each and every one of you.
Fans of the conversation that can help by way clicking the vote button at the bottom of the page, posting this blog post on your social networking pages, doing re-tweets and e-mailing out event links to your network of friends and family to let the world know about the things that happen when hearts and minds join together in the fight.
It was this same fight that came to the life of Sarah Love after building a family with a loving husband, 5 children, 17 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Sarah Love was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in September of 2001.
After surgery and several years of treatment her battle was declared a victory as she was diagnosed cancer free.
Much like countless other stories from Breast Cancer survivors the joy was diminished eight years later as the cancer has returned and she must now deal with the reality of being back in the fight for her life.
The fight that has left her unable to work with all of the pressures of daily life still weighing heavily on her plate...
Pressures of having to pay countless medical bills while trying not put financial hardship on her family.
It’s the personal stories like the one Sarah Love has to share with the world that gives this war a face.
A face that needs the helping hands of local communities across the nation to give aid to the men and women in the fight against Breast Cancer.
It is with these thoughts heavy on our minds that we are proud to make the official announcement for the Fredericksburg "Pink Out"
A month long celebration for Sarah Love and all other Breast Cancer Survivors in honor of the fight that continues today and the countless numbers of the lives lost to this disease.
A month of Fundraising and Philanthropy that will take place at Happy Endings Bar and Grill located at 1315 Princess Anne Street Fredericksburg, VA.
A month where we are asking for the men and women of the Fredericksburg Area Beyond to help in the cause by doing something as simple as coming into Happy Endings Bar and Grill wearing Pink to show support for the cause.
For the fans of the conversation outside of the area we are asking that you show your support for this cause through grassroots action by helping to spread the word of the love and helping our fellow man across the globe.
Featured will be the Deluxe Nachos and a Breast Cancer Awareness “Ta-Ta” Drink.
For every time a customer orders one of these items for the entire month of February, Happy Endings Bar and Grill will donate $1.00 to the Sarah Love Fund to help differ costs of medical bills for Sarah Love.
Beyond the monthly features will also be two full days of fundraising.
