At a crucial time in the history of the world it has become far too easy to forget about the basics.
The basics of life that allow the human race to exist…
During this time of economic turmoil, political discourse and pessimism; the world public has turned their focus away from the hard work of many organizations dedicated to protecting the planet from the actions of human beings.
On this day, I am proud to introduce you to one of these organizations.
The mission of Green Fence Conservation Trust is to protect and preserve habitat by acquiring land and holding it in trust and in perpetuity.
Too often, we put our faith into government to do the “Right Thing” when it comes to protecting natural resources and wildlife.
While the effect of this trust has resulted in the preservation of some areas there are many other stories of opportunities lost in the decimation of habitats and the disappearance of entire species.
When we look beyond the pointed fingers, accusations of placing profit over conservation and the economic pressures being placed on our daily lives; what we are left with is a simple responsibility for future generations to help the planet heal from the damage that has already been done.
A process of healing that is about more than pushing to pass legislation, placing the onus of the problem on a political party or adding to the toxicity of a polluted political environment.
Doing our part to help in this global struggle should be about helping organizations like Green Fence work outside of the system to secure land and protect it.
The focus of Green Fence is in an apolitical approach to habitat protection that ensures that donations are used for the intended purpose: Habitat Purchase.
No matter your socio economic class, race, gender, sexual orientation, religion or political affiliation; the state of the planet affects us all the same.
