Politics and Culture - American Profiles In Radical Independence

“I do not want my house to be walled in on all sides and my windows to be stuffed. I want the cultures of all the lands to be blown about my house as freely as possible. But I refuse to be blown off my feet by any.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Understanding the Fight: Community Support for the Awareness Event and Beyond

August 14th 2009 11:23
What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal.

~Albert Pike

In the structure of any movement there comes a point of realization where it must be understood that a cause is not about one man, woman or entertainment entity…

With this understanding we can begin to rally the community in an effort to bring together helping hands that are looking to directly impact the goal of not only winning the fight but ultimately winning the war.

The power that comes when the community puts its full support behind a cause is unmistakable and sends shockwaves for the creation of great things.

Shockwaves that only lead to more generosity and compassion on a bigger scale that can put food into the stomachs of people who have not had a hot meal for some time or can lead to an important breakthrough in finding a cure for a disease that has taken away loved one’s across the globe.

It is with these thoughts that the decision was made to dedicate our time and energy in the creation of the Awareness Event Series that kicks off on August 29th and the community has answered the call to action with their full support.

Full support that has lead to media exposure and donations from local businesses in excess of over $1000.00 in items to be raffled, displayed or given away in promotion of the Awareness Event Series.

It’s these helping hands that will always lead the way in the fight against diseases that have no cure and helping our fellow man, woman and child through tough times.

We will need this spirit of togetherness on a national level to get through times of economic crisis as we search for answers to life’s toughest questions.

Questions that will leave us searching for solutions of how we can do our part to help and the role we can play in getting our nation back on her feet again.

The time for us to care and match the enthusiasm of our local business leaders is in front of us as they have done everything within their power for the cause above and beyond what is expected of them from the local community.

Expectations are rarely put on us as individuals but we all understand our role to do what we can to help as we would want someone to do the same thing for our mother, father, sister, brother, cousin or any other member of our family.

We are all looking forward to four weeks of celebration and raising awareness in the local community with each and every one of you by our side.

As long as we remember why we come to this place to have conversations and become aware of the cause there is nothing that can keep these events from becoming a success and nothing can stand in the way of reaching the goal winning one of the many battles in the fight for the cause.
