Failure to Grow

Throughout the course of human history many lessons have been learned through experience.
For early civilizations, these lessons were learned from the simplicities of trial and error with the building blocks that ultimately lead to longer life spans, things that would be considered magic in the minds of earlier generations that are now common place because of advancements in the fields of medicine and science along with improved ways of bringing together the global community.
In conversations about advancements in technology and how far we have come as a society because of the knowledge gained from our past; it’s become far too easy to glance over the basic facts surrounding dangerous situations.
Dangerous situations that later became the atrocities we read about in history books or discuss in the framework of something that has happened in the past but could never occur in modern society.
It is only through discussions about the Holocaust and the Slave Trade that we can gain an understanding about the depths a society can sink to if a person or a group of people are labeled as being anything less than human beings.
While the idea of these things happening again in modern society may be a stretch for most people in the conversation; there is still something to be said about the things that happen to a society when she fails to learn from her past.
A past filled with painful lessons learned on every corner of the globe and the creation of empires, kingdoms, governments and utopian societies to grow into something better.
It was only through the experience of religious, social and societal oppression that a group of men, that had strong opinions against one other, were able to come together in the creation of a society that would exist on the idea of freedom alone.
Through many growing pains, contradictions and societal friction; it is this one ideal shared between the forefathers’ of the United States of America that is still the sticking point in the country they founded and many other nations across the globe.
The problem with modern society has very little to do with our ability to understand the basic facts about atrocities of the not so distant past and has everything to do with our ability to relate it to current situations.
Current situations that are calling for government bodies across the globe to change the way business is being done on a global scale and for the people of the world to break free from the illusion of comfort in group mentality.
Group mentality, that has given the people of modern society the false belief that the decades of peace and prosperity the World was allowed to enjoy before 9/11/01 came because of the work of great leadership and not the dangerous game of chicken with Nuclear Weaponry.
It is through the era of “PEACE” that an age of “Bad ideas” was allowed to spread across the globe through a generation of credit, deficit and spending until the global piggy bank reached a breaking point we still can’t recover from.
After a Global Recession, Economic Melt Down, Global Crisis of Joblessness and an Epidemic of Homelessness across the globe it is still business as usual for finding long term strategies using the same formulas that dragged the world down a road to nowhere.
It’s only through learning and growth that a problem finds a solution.
Solutions that are about more than pouring fuel into the global economy by stripping away the rights of citizens and watering down regulations that would prevent the spread of disease, cause more sickness and further deteriorate the health of future generations.
The World is in a state of panic.
In some cases, panic can be a good thing when it builds awareness to a situation that forces people that would not come together under normal circumstances to do so in the creation of solution for the greater good.
In other cases, panic can be the cause for the promotion of dangerous agendas when the systems set up to protect society from itself are torn down in favor of releasing the hounds to get a job done no matter the cost.
It was a sense of panic that broke down conversations between a group of men faced with a decision between growing the economy of a young nation against the threat of attack from all sides or choosing to be hypocritical by including the phrase “All Men are Created Equal” and continuing the practice of slavery.
History, Common Sense and understanding all the reasons why the World Economy has reached this dangerous place should play a role in the need for a drastic overhaul of a broken system but the powers that be have chosen to keep pressing buttons in the hope that a suitable outcome eventually appears.
Buttons that will lead to the eventual downfall of society as we know it because of the dangerous by products that have been and are being created.
Dangerous by products that are about more than the debate over global warming/cooling and the destruction or lack thereof the Ozone Layer….
The consequences we are facing in modern society is much closer to home with a deadly impact very few people will understand until it’s far too late.
Too late, to clean up the mess that happened when the people of the world stopped paying attention to actions of the men and women sworn to serve them.
