Separating Fluff and Bull from Facts and Fiction “Politicizing the Military”

For every bill debated and eventually passed through Congress there is none more important than the one’s that support the efforts of the men and women who lay their lives on the line each and every day in service to the United States of America.
In an election season it’s easy to lose sight of this basic fact in favor of the push for social issues that will never win full support among the divided consensus of public opinion.
Public opinion that is twisted and turned with half stories based on rumor and innuendo with the intent of causing division from all sides of the issue.
When it comes to a debate on illegal immigration, gay rights and abortion the proper channels are sitting in front of our Congressman to have an open discussion on the issues but in a year of confusion and vote wrangling the powers that be have chosen to form the debate on the backs of the men and women serving our country.
Issues that need open and honest debate have been snuck in the backdoor to arouse conversation that blinds the American people from the cause and effect that they represent on the big picture.
The big picture that surrounds the lack of action in the immigration issue to the detriment of the lives of Americans across the United States.
The big picture in the lack of equal rights for people of all sexual orientations who lay their lives on the line along side their brothers and sisters in service but are not given the same rights to openly lives their lives as they see fit.
The big picture in opening up the channels of communication on the abortion issue rather than sneaking around back doors and causing even more division among the populous.
For every time the federal government uses the greatest military force in the world as a pawn to push election year agendas we lose an opportunity to have future honest debates on an issue that should be simple.
Simple in the duty of our elected officials to act in the will of the people who put them into office rather than serving party line agendas to save jobs wasted by falling into age old partisan traps.
