Politics and Culture - American Profiles In Radical Independence

“I do not want my house to be walled in on all sides and my windows to be stuffed. I want the cultures of all the lands to be blown about my house as freely as possible. But I refuse to be blown off my feet by any.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Separating Fluff and Bull from Facts and Fiction “Pay to Play”

September 22nd 2010 13:25
As much as the media loves to shout about stories of wars and rumors of wars within the big two political parties the results always end the same.

The winners are and will always be the men and women who play within the system and the losers are and will always be those who find themselves on the outside.

In an election season where the public has been confronted with Tea Parties, a rash of “independent” candidates in cloaks of blue and red along with the vision of outside forces who went through on their promises to carry on after falling out of favor with the party powers that be; the American public is given a glimmer of hope.

Hope in the prophecy of a dark horse breaking up the story of this and that which has framed our current age of modern politics or the revelation of “the great truth” that will never change no matter how much we rally against it.

The great truth of a system created to give the American voter a structured choice between two political philosophies rather than a million fractured groups and how it has become a monopoly designed to do anything but serve the people who elect them into office.

As much as we enjoy having a system based on solutions we must also have the ability to see the problems that have been created within the machine and how the broken glass ceilings, political revolutions and finger pointing is getting us nowhere.

Nowhere in the aspect of creating and passing legislation that has a positive affect on the basic commodities of keeping Americans safe along our borders, protecting our food supply from the problems of our own design, ensuring that drinking water is safe today and will be safe for future generations and giving government power back to the people from the clutches of corporations, special interests and those who have the ability to pay to play.

When it is all said and done it will be the people and not a partisan revolution from within either of the big two political party who allows it to all fall apart or puts the train back on the tracks.
