Separating Fluff and Bull from Facts and Fiction Volume V “The Broken News Cycle”
September 7th 2010 12:56
For every internet news post, article printed and topic tweeted about gains or losses for the DNC or RNC in a political election season the American Public loses a valuable chance to have a conversation.
A conversation that isn’t about the failure or success of continuing with the power of one party over another but is about the uniformity of anger among the populous directed at the failures of our elected officials from both sides of the aisle.
Failures in protecting the interests of the American people over special interests and the party line…
Failures in taking the opportunity to approach problems for the greater good rather than using them as weapons of mass distraction against the men and women who came before them and those who are to come.
Failures in taking charge of the major issues that directly impact American Citizens in protecting our most precious resources in the food we feed our children, air we breathe and water we drink.
For every fluff piece about the rise of the next great liberal or conservative savior and the articles centered on bringing down the image of men and women who may bring ideas that can be molded into something good for the nation we forget about the basic issues that should be at the forefront of discussion.
The powder keg is exploding in front of our faces and the American People have been sedated by a news media, government and a popular opinion that is telling us that this is just the way things are.
There is no problem in the United States of America that can not be fixed.
The system is broken and the only way we can approach any real solutions to fix the mess is by thinking outside the red and blue box that continuously illustrates “facts” to the American people through polls and simplistic thinking.
