Fighting for Monica Fund Salsa Dance Party Official Announcement
November 6th 2009 14:33
In every community across the world there are stories of hope and perseverance against the odds that instill a sense and strength within its citizens.
Stories that give us hope when the odds stack up against us in our personal lives and create the very essence of the American Spirit.
Today’s story of hope, love and compassion is about a Fredericksburg Virginia Area Native who shares the same story as many of the people who read this conversation from week to week.
The story of walking through many of the same halls in Elementary, Middle and High School.
The story of sitting in the same classrooms and listening to lectures from the same teachers.
The story of trips to the very same shopping centers and enjoying meals in the same restaurants.
The story of Monica Campos is different by way of the struggle she has had to stare in the face from the time of her birth. Monica has a disease by the name of Spina Bifida which has caused her life to be a struggle from her very first breathes.
A disease that had doctors tell her parents that she would never see the age of 8 much less being able to foresee how she could make it through life long enough to live the true story of being a 26 year old mother who has spent a lifetime beating the odds against a disease that was supposed to end her life over two decades ago.
While Monica has achieved many victories in her young life it has not been without struggle.
Struggle from medical complications that have had her in and out of hospitals undergoing procedures to keep her alive.
As we all know, hospital treatment and care for a disease of this magnitude is not an easy thing for anyone to afford. It is for this reason that I am proud to announce a new addition to the Awareness Event Winter Series.
An addition that will help to directly raise money and awareness for Monica Campos and her family during these trying times.
Times that are calling for even more procedures and hospitalization on a young life that has already gone through so much.
The first phase of this partnership will begin the evening of Friday, December 04, 2009 9:00pm-Close at Buffalo Wild Wings Fredericksburg, located at 1638 Carl D Silver Parkway Fredericksburg, VA 22401.
It is on this night where we will debut the Fighting for Monica Fund Salsa Dance Party which will be a monthly event.
Featured at this event will be DJ Manny, a well known Disc Jockey who will be spinning the very best in Hip Hop with a Latino Flavor.
As with all other currently planned and future Awareness Events and the events we already have on our resume that raised money for Breast Cancer Research and the Homeless, the goal of this event is to provide quality entertainment while also helping a worthy cause.
A cause that will benefit one of our own through direct action and support from the local community and beyond.
The Fighting for Monica Fund Salsa Dance Party will be an 18 and over event with a $5.00 cover charge.
10% of sales from this evening of celebration as well as proceeds from the cover charge will be given directly to the Fighting for Monica Fund to help with Medical Bills and Support.
