The Cause for Children

In December of 2009 the Fredericksburg area was treated to the invention of a concept that would revolutionize fundraising and philanthropy. This concept was named the 15 Minutes of Fame Charity Show which was created to bring together elements of dance, comedy, song and entertainment to help raise money and awareness for worthy causes.
In September of 2010 I am proud to say that this concept is responsible for raising thousands of dollars for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a Breast Cancer survivors fight against Bone Cancer and will now be used to help children fighting cancer.
As we look forward to this special event we must not forget about the cause that is behind the night of fun and entertainment. The cause that is about the news that can strike any family at a moments notice and the organizations that are looking to help mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters and family friends make it through one of the toughest times anyone could face.
Cancer is hard enough to deal with when the news is given to an adult but when the news is given to the family of a child it is an even harder reality to grasp. Thanks to advancements in technology this news is no longer a death sentence but only a signal to the beginning of a greater fight.
A fight that no child or family should have to face alone which is the reason why organizations like Carter’s Crusaders have organized networks to give back the fun to the lives of children fighting cancer, help families deal with medical costs and an emotional toll.
The 15 Minutes of Fame Charity Show is an event designed to raise money and awareness for groups like Carter’s Crusader’s that work tirelessly to benefit the lives of others.
On the night of Saturday September 18, 2010 Bailey’s Pub & Grille, DJ the Don, First Laugh Entertainment, Exophonic Entertainment, Awareness Event, Fredericksburg Event Syndicate and a group of men and women looking for their 15 Minutes of Fame will be joining hands in raising money and awareness for children fighting cancer.
A gathering of the community for a night of laughter, fun, music and talent with the return of talent show’s from yesteryear featuring Original Artists, Karaoke All Stars, Dancers and a Stand Up Comedic host who will all gather to raise money and awareness for a worthy cause.
The place to be Saturday September 18th between 10:00pm and 1:45 am is Bailey’s Pub & Grille located at 1861 Carl D Silver Parkway Fredericksburg, VA.
This is a 21 only event with a $5.00 Cover Charge.
In return for this cover charge charge each guest will be given 5 tickets equivalent to one dollar cash to be used as votes for their favorite performance of the evening. The contestant with the most votes will be given the title of 2010 15 Minutes of Fame Charity Show Champion along with prizes from sponsorship vendors.
All net proceeds from this event will be donated to Carter’s Crusader’s to help with their mission of helping all children and families affected by cancer. To learn more about this organization please click the link below.

If you would like to compete in this event your last chance to try out will be at Cheeseburger in Paradise Fredericksburg, VA Friday September 17, 2010 at the weekly Exophonic Entertainment Karaoke Show. Singers, Dancer, Instrumentalists, Comedians, Free Style Rappers and anyone else with a talent they feel could earn them the title of champion are welcome to try out.
In the quest to help charitable causes it will take more than simple words or a call to action to make an impact. An impact requires a return from the community to put hearts and minds into helping an idea become reality. It is my sincere hope that each and every one of you will join us for a night of fun and entertainment to help raise money and awareness for children in the fight against cancer.
