The Development Of Radical independence Part I

I broke a promoise....lol
I mentioned politics in my last post so here it is. As many of you know I've spent the past years as an ardent Republican supporter voting for Bush twice. I still stand strongly behind my reasons for voting for Bush. While not everything has been perfect over the past years my reasons for voting him in were solely because I knew that going into the 2000 election our country was going to be attacked and that we were going to be at war.
I felt Bush was right man to deal with attackers as commander and chief and he was. As far as the war I am still in the belief that our intelligence agencies messed things up big time which lead to the systems being overhauled and our country having less of a reliance on dealing with shady people to get our information on what the enemy is doing.
For me the bottom line is that Saddam threw up his bluff and ultimately paid the price for it....
As far as now all the rules have changed. America is disenfranchised with the war and all of the Republicans around the same political framework like the George Allens and the Trent Lott's have been thrown out of Washigton or are focused on keeping their respective congressional seats.
I fought and fought to argue that a Republican could win the white house based on our countries safety or that was even what our country needed, but I've come to realize that this is not the case as our country is on such high alerts the agencies are equipped for anything. Or if anything is going to happen it will happen no matter who is in office.
Thusly John McCain will be the republican nominee. I've always believed McCain is and has always been more of a democrat then a Republican with his social views, waiverance on the economy, and incessant need to meddle, which is why I feel he has been the only long time republican to survive to even vie for the presidency.
Thanks to open primaries he has become the answer and I refuse to accept it. With that being the case I am willing to take the leap to someone whom I can actually believe. The process has been jaded over the years where most people will vote saying eenie, meenie, minie, moe. For this reason I could never understand how someone like JFK could hold office. I always equated it to his looks and style but now in my lifetime after seeing and hearing a canidate that can speak to constituants and gives the ability to acutally believe what he says I am now a believer.
At the beginning of this race I was ready to cast my vote for Bloomberg based on his enviormental satnces and ability to clean up Washington. Washington doesn't need another insider at the highest office. I believe Obama is the outsider that can bring about reform.
Reform against the lobbyists and special interests, reform against the political wrangling and reform to find solutions to America's deepest problems. I never in my lifetime thought I would be stumping for a democrat but at this stage of my life I'm ready to drop the political label game as I was ready to vote for an independent before.
Unfortunately it doesn't look like Bloomberg will run and if he did he would split votes with Obama. If Hillary does happen to pull it out and Bloomberg emerged he would be splitting votes with McCain. The last thing I want is another 8 years of Bush/Clinton politics. The country has had enough of the 20 years of this family empire. I know this type of politics has consumed my life time and I'm looking forward to the end of the cycle.....
