The Necessary Evil
October 30th 2011 14:06
In every election cycle there is no shortage of opinions about the things that are wrong with politicians seeking a term of service but there are very few people willing to take an introspective look at the candidates and political parties they choose to support.
An introspective look at the bottomless pit of contradictions that has become the modern election system…
Picking apart candidates for their ideas to fix a broken system has become the main event of a three ring circus instead of taking candidates that most closely relate to our personal opinions to task.
To task for falling into the trap of putting together magic acts to please rasdical bases instead of having the courage to stand up and run on a platform that is best for each and every American citizen.
It is the philosophy of “Divide and Conquer” that has created the two party monopoly system considered a “Necessary Evil” by many American citizens and a cash cow for the political action committees, lobbyists and corporations that have better access to Congress and the White House than the average American citizen.
It’s a sad state of affairs when the American public isn’t able to get angry at the key components of a system gone wrong without aligning themselves on one side of the aisle of the other.
We have willingly given up our right to assemble against the problem because we are too busy being angry at the cogs in the machine.
The choice to participate in Class Welfare or only the problem of Debt has been used by political leadership as an excuse to continue the actions that are driving the bus further and further into the ditch.
Instead of labeling ourselves as part of a "Tea Party" or “Occupy” movement we should be taking direct action against representatives from both political parties for selling our rights away.
Our rights to honor the wishes of the forefathers of the United States of America when they created the documents that still serve as the foundation for all the principles the United States of America stands for.
Principles that are about more than being the international sheriff that deposes “rogue” leadership we do not agree with thousands of miles away from American shores but is about the inalienable rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
While we praise our political leadership for being men and women of peace and ending wars that should have never been started; we must also be willing to stand up against them when they participate in the very same actions they spoke out against as a candidate seeking a term of service.
Before we can celebrate on the streets about the demise of a dictator that will be replaced by a regime that will be equally or more repressive than the one before; we must take our representatives to task for not aligning themselves on the side of common sense when it comes to setting standards for the safety of our food, quality of the water supply and effects on our health.
What we have in the United States of America is a backwards set of priorities orchestrated by a system that cares very little about the health and welfare of the American and World public.
A system that is fueled by the all mighty dollar instead of serving as the watch dog that was given powers in the United States Constitution and Bill of Rights to be the eyes and ears of the American people when the Federal government makes decisions that fail to honor the United States Constitution.
When the people are willing to put aside the things that are clearly right and wrong in favor of representatives and political parties that most closely align with the things they are told will be taken away the system fails.
The system fails to serve the people because the people have stopped expecting their representatives to do the jobs they were elected to do.
Before we can proclaim our politics to be about a political party or politician we must stop and ask ourselves about the contradictions that come from our support.
Contradictions that exist in the reasons why a system of government created 235 years ago is still functional and has been duplicated in many other nations across the globe.
The American system of government is not and will never be about one idea, cause or rallying cry. It has been and will always be about the ideas of many people from different walks of life continually working to make an imperfect system work for all the people and not just the select few.
Until we choose to see past the blue and red banners, calls to action created by hidden political forces and anger twisted and turned by puppeteers with sinister agendas we will continue to fail as a society that chooses to be divided but will be forced to come together when it all falls apart.
