Politics and Culture - American Profiles In Radical Independence

“I do not want my house to be walled in on all sides and my windows to be stuffed. I want the cultures of all the lands to be blown about my house as freely as possible. But I refuse to be blown off my feet by any.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi

The History of American Foreign Policy & How The Game Changed On Us...

December 20th 2008 17:36
“These things happened; they were glorious and changed the world”

“Then we f***** up the end game…”

~ Charlie Wilson, former United States naval officer and former Democratic United States Representative from the 2nd congressional district in Texas....

Regardless of social folklore, our story as Americans is laced with a colorful history of a nation that was born on blood stained ground spilled by brave men and women from every nationality, religion, race creed and sexual orientation.

This story began on American soil but each and every American President has made it his mission to share the gifts our forefathers gave us with the rest of the world.

These gifts of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness were written well beyond the social turmoil that engulfed the room in the Continental Congress and transcended the social arguments of how a new nation could be both compassionate and functional in an upside down economic system.

The goal of this young state began with a national strategy of isolation while intolerance reared its ugly head across the globe. This system quickly proved fruitless as the old adage of the world’s problems becoming America’s problems rang true over and over again as history continually repeated itself through decades of experience learned the hard way.

It’s easy to associate the word evil when man misconstrues religion as a tool of war or uses the socioecomic pain of a nation to rally people into radical causes against a race, religion or a social group.

Mad men like Adolf Hitler and Osama Bin Laden will always be a part of our world just as their will always be men of peace like the Dalai Lama and Mahatma Gandhi. The delicate balancing act of world balance has dragged our nation into conflict after conflict in a Domino House building fashion.

It has never been the role of American policy to fix every injustice and wrong across the world. Not even Superman himself could accomplish a feat this audacious and we should not expect this from our political leaders or our country. The problems our leaders face each and every time is trying to balance out the difference between madmen who wreak havoc on a regional level and mad men who are bent on world domination, power, genocide and destruction.

The whole issue of regional Mad Men has reshaped our entire structure of defense and world order. These men raised their hands in war, rape, genocide and strife for decades while the super powers chose sides in the WWI, WWII & Ultimately the Cold War.

Weapons of education, government structure and world knowledge were spread across the globe to sway nations into choosing Democracy over Communism but on the other side of the world weapons of war were put into hands of men the likes of Osama Bin Laden & Saddam Hussein in an effort to help deliver the final death blow into the structure of the USSR and fight our other enemies.

While I hate the grouping of American wars into categories of “good war” or “bad war” I have to say that the Cold War was one of the most intriguing conflicts in World History.

What separates the Cold War from the dangers we face today is placed in the fact that with the Cold War we could look right across the Atlantic or ..Pacific Ocean.. and see the guns pointed right back at us and each side had a healthy respect for the theory of Mutual Assured Destruction.

The end of Russian occupation in Afghanistan also spelled the end of this level of comfort for our nation and the world. Our enemies are no longer structured, with clear leaders to negotiate with or goals but rather we now have hundreds of thousands of small groups fighting for their own fundamentalist agendas.

To make matters worse, centuries old religious and social wars can now be fought without any direct nation to nation contact. Without this nation to nation contact responsibility can now be shifted fairly and unfairly leading to attacks based on assumptions and premised on things that happened hundreds of years ago.

The world’s problems are now truly our problems…

In this Chapter of our nations history, what we need is to get the most extreme Doves on the left and the most aggressive War Hawks on the right to figure out practical solutions for dealing with this new world order.

I’m sure some of you remember my blog about WWIII a few weeks back and I’m still sure it’s on the horizon….

The evidence is clearly mounting with the factors mentioned above coupled with our world financial crisis and dependence on Middle East Oil. The problem isn’t America’s generosity in being the country that fights for the rights of those who can’t fight for themselves.

The problem is when we don’t do the right thing once the bullets stop flying.

It’s when we don’t assist a government that doesn’t know anything beyond a life of power, dirty politics and strife.

It’s when we don’t help educate the youth of the nations we liberate about a world beyond fundamental religion and poverty.

When we don’t share the gifts that were given to us by our forefathers beyond removing the problem it always comes back to us like a boomerang because there will always be someone else who’s willing to do the job and bring it back to us…

In Depth Analysis on the In Coming Obama Adminstration Cabinet

In order to rally people, governments need enemies. They want us to be afraid, to hate, so we will rally behind them. And if they do not have a real enemy, they will invent one in order to mobilize us.....
