The Partisanship Frenzy and the Never Ending Drama of Revolving Doors

He who never sacrificed a present to a future good or a personal to a general one can speak of happiness only as the blind do of colors.

In today’s conversation we're discussing the phenomenon known as double-speak…
When approached by this phrase most Americans and world citizens have a clear understanding of it’s meaning but will also be quick to excuse a politician if it comes down to protecting a political self interest out of fear.
Every politician that has come across the main stage of sate, local and national politics is guilty of participating in the sweet art of double-speak and every constituent is also guilty of calling the other side out at one time or another.
Whether it was the Bill Clinton’s “sexual relations” scandal, George W. Bush’s witch hunt for weapons of mass destruction or Barack Obama’s rise to power through promises of ending the reign of special interests and partisanship the story has remained the same over and over again.
Like the moments in history mentioned before, what I’m looking to discuss are open and apparent for everyone to see.
There are no hidden meetings or doctored video tapes when it comes to blatant partisanship nor is it ok when one side of the argument professes a need to change the game at the expense of the other in a political power play.
What we have is the existence of tongue and cheek children’s games that the American people are being forced to play at the expense of having open and honest dialogue on every level of government.
The price we must play for this merry go round that gives us a lack of structured choices is failed schools, uncertainty in our food supply, a failed economy, rising unemployment numbers, a broken environment and a dark future
If I were looking for a political pitch this would be the point where I would find time partake in double-speak and suggest that everyone vote for the wounded minority whose voice is not being heard or to urge for more broken glass ceilings simply because we haven’t tried that before.
The last thing our country needs are more saviors cloaked in blue and red shrouds to save us from villains of their own creation.
What we need are more Clint Eastwood like characters who are going to come to Capitol Hill, do the jobs they were elected for and fix the mess from all sides.
Our politicians have gotten our patterns of segregating each other by way of invisible walls of race, religion, gender, nationality and sexual orientation down to a science.
A separation that no longer looks to find out if the American people actually agree or disagree with the things a politician is saying from his or her heart to help the country he or she loves through service but rather looks for ways to break down the conversation to everything based around our lesser instincts and fear.
Fear of foreign attack…
Fear of our rights being taken away…
Fear of the other side…
The sad part about the situation at hand is our acceptance of the game as common place or fact.
Acceptance of the system to be faulty and acceptance of the politicians who fall on our side of the fence to get away with bold face lying, cheating, stealing and other activities of depravity while we form witch hunts when politicians from the other side do the same thing.
The time has come to call a spade a spade and leave the BS at the door before we wake up and try to honestly fix the problem after everything is gone.
Rogue nations are profiting off of our division and blind follow the leader mentality while most US citizens are none the wiser to the destruction that is taking place in their very own backyards.
Destruction that is building cynicism around anybody who stands up for a cause as we look for ways to pin them down as liberal, conservative or puppets for a candidate or party.
The conversation is no longer about issues that affect the lives of Americans nor is it about compromise as our insatiable need to group things together has created a winner take all atmosphere without a need to look for the middle and make practical solutions.
As much as politicians have enjoyed placing the catchphrases about ending the partisanship and getting government working for the people again; these remarks are only products of a spin doctor feeling the anger on mainstreet and twisting it for political gain.
One man or woman’s vision of partisanship will always be used as a sword to push forth an agenda or for political points in the quest for absolute power.
It saddens me to say these things about the country I love but in the words of a famous philosopher…
“Don’t hate the player… Hate the game.”
We can not continue to run around lambasting the Nancy Pelosi’s and Sarah Palins in government because their actions and dreams of a utopian state are obviously not the same as the average voter.
To pound against their radical philosophy is a waste of time and energy when the problem is squarely within the voting electorate and the way we make our decisions as to choosing the men and women who lead this great nation.
We need conversation and understanding to fight extremism on both sides of the argument.
Without the knowledge and foresight to understand why the walls continue to close in on us from a government who is not acting for the will of the people we are nothing but a lost flock of sheep who allow it to keep happening.
