The Vision of Absolute Power for the Greater Good Part II
June 24th 2009 06:28
Those who profess to favor freedom and yet depreciate agitation are people who want crops without ploughing the ground; they want rain without thunder and lightning; they want the ocean without the roar of its many waters. The struggle may be a moral one, or it may be a physical one, or it may be both. But it must be a struggle. Power concedes nothing without a demand; it never has and it never will.

What began as a Dog & Pony show looking to work within a system of dictatorship has turned into a full fledged revolution on the streets of Iran.
A revolution sparked by outrage from an election that did not reflect the will of the people has become a rallying cry from the hearts and minds of the Iranian people to plant the seeds of Democracy and Social freedom for all her people.
Streets are filled with women and men fighting for the same cause as there blood fills the street from the Iron fist of a dictatorship that is willing to maintain power at any cost.
While some members of the world community may express emotions of shock and awe when faced with the story of the current Iranian Revolution; it is important for each and every one of us to constantly remind ourselves that this heart warming story is not a unique one.
The story of revolution has been told on every continent of the world as men and women of vision have risen up against governments that are not acting for the will of the people.
We have our story as Americans but the term revolution was also used in Germany when a man by the name of Adolf Hitler rose to power and gave the German people hope after years of depravity from effects of WWI.
Revolution was also a rallying cry when the Soviets stormed into the Palace of the Russian Czar and executed his family before forming what would later be known as the USSR.
These periods of history were times of change for the people of these countries as eloquent speakers made promises of a better life but also added a Catch 22 by creating societies based on exclusivity, genocide, depravity and world domination.
In these dangerous times we must look deeper into the hearts, minds and intentions of revolution because as history has taught us all too well a revolution is not enough to guarantee freedom.
To obtain true freedom a society must be ready to have a government built by the people instead of relying on a politician to lead the charge.
When politicians lead the charge for “change” the end result will always be corrupted with a train of broken promises, power plays to obtain and maintain the power they already have and ultimately the creation of the society they worked so hard to eliminate.
I’m not going to sit here and say that I know the future intentions of Mir Hossein Moussavi if he were to gain power over Iran…
With bold examples of revolution in the People’s Republic of China, the current regime in Iran, Cuba and Zimbabwe that ultimately went wrong we have to question the factor of getting more than we asked for.
Countries that will hold rigged and mock elections that don’t represent the will of the people deserve to face the cruel power of the peoople.
There is no questioning this train of thought as every man, woman and child should have a government that respects these fundamental rights.
The problem isn’t within the thought of this philosphy but clearly comes with the places where we choose to pick our battles.
The battle of looking down on a country for using it’s military to squelch the voice of protest while also embracing another regime with a long history of doing the very same thing because they are a world power and hold trillions of dollars over us in a mounting debt ledger.
The battle of chomping at the bit in encouragement of oppressed women in a country that has never allowed them to have their voices heard while also holding back from being involved diplomaticaly while we wait for a winner in the war of control because of oil interests and fear of nuclear proliferation.
Revolution has arrived in the nation of Iran and there isn’t any man, woman or country that can deny the facts on the table.
A revolution made possible by way of modern technology that has the world watching and waiting for the next step.
It is within this next step that fight goes beyond martyrdym and relying on a system within the framework of a dictatorship.
An explosion is needed but any action must be controlled beyond words and destruction in fits of anger and rage.
Negotiation may not be the key in this situation but it is also important to remember that any revolution that has lasted through time began and ended with patience, understanding and a respect for every member within a set society.
