From the beginning of recorded time many men and women have tried to predict how the end of human existence would come about.
While some have shaped their answers with evidence pertaining to the demise of species that came before human beings others have presented a clear warning.
A warning about the demise of man coming from the way the human race has chosen to progress as a society without any regard to the consequences of their actions.
Consequences that came with a loud warning when the biggest threat to mankind was Global Warming and Nuclear War…
Threats that were addressed on a global scale with initiatives to create a type of warfare built on the principles of Assured Mutual Mass Destruction and an understanding among the leaders of industrialized nations about the affects our individual carbon footprint have on the Earth as a whole.
While it may be easy to wallow in our personal cocoons of comfort when it comes to patting ourselves on the back for all the advancements made in re-shaping the way we live our lives it’s also just as important to keep our eyes directed towards the threats of the 21st century.
Threats that are transforming our worst fears into dark realities with erratic weather patterns, cataclysmic natural disasters along with the escalation of diseases we are already too familiar with and the creation of new global pandemics.
For all the fear that was spread in the past century about the threat of nuclear war the world failed to prepare itself from a method of self destruction that was right under all of our noses.
The kind of self destruction that comes when nature is left in a state of un-balance from the way human beings have chosen to live their lives in the destruction of natural habitats, the un-natural breeding of animals in crowded pens to economize our food supply, the way pollutants are pumped into the atmosphere to crowd around with the air human beings and animals need to breathe and the pollution of the water supply that is the life blood for every animal on the planet.
When it comes to discussing how the world will end; the easy conversation always begins with a crooked pointed finger towards all the political, social and religious division that still exists in a world where conflict has become an expected solution rather than a reserved option.
Conflict that is in front of our faces every minute of the hour, every day of the week and second of the day…
Conflicts that lead us to believe that we have no control over the things that happen in our neighborhoods, county, province, state or nation when it comes to taking a broad look at the continued failed strategies pushed out by government bodies in putting a halt to the damage that is happening across the globe.
Damage that is escalating a process that has been building itself up over the course of many decades from the arrogance that comes with a world society believing that we can continue to live the way we live without the threat of consequence.
For every “miracle drug” or anti-bacterial used to combat strains of bacteria and viruses spread by the way society has chosen to profit off of farm animals there has been a survival mechanism triggered by the bacteria and diseases we are trying to wipe out.
These elements of nature are responsible for creating defenses known as “drug resistant” strains moving too fast for modern medical science to keep up with nature.
If we take an honest look at this epidemic and focus on the number of annual flu shots along with the over production of anti-bacterial products used in the hundreds of thousands of restaurants across the United States of America alone and the millions of homes across the globe the conclusion we would be forced to reach is very dark
A conclusion that forces us to look at the things that are to come when all the pieces of the puzzle fall into place and the aspect of the diminishing power of the U.S. Dollar, being on the losing side of the world Energy Race, Conflicts in the Middle East to overthrow dictators and the threat of rogue nations or terrorists getting a hold of Nuclear Weapons isn’t as much of a cataclysmic idea as we once thought it was.
If the human race is to survive the destruction we have already inflicted on ourselves there must be immediate action to get the train back on the tracks before it’s too late.
Immediate action in cleaning up the breeding ground for diseases and bacteria on farms across the globe that was created from the idea of thinking that pumping animals full of anti-bacterial drugs would somehow derail the course of nature as opposed to creating new strains of drug resistant bacteria and viruses.
If we refuse to do this as a race of people we must prepare to face the inevitable end as individuals by embracing every day we are given to live our lives. An embrace that includes doing what we can for our fellow man, woman and child in a manner that transcends race, age, sexual orientation, gender, socio-economic class, nationality, religion and political affiliation.
