Separating Fluff and Bull from Facts and Fiction “The Urgency of Now”
October 14th 2010 12:43
As Americans from sea to shining sea awaken to the true realities of crisis, that have been swept under the rug in favor of rosy election year predictions, we must focus on all the drama that is now forced back into the conversation.
The drama of recognizing the impact of skewed job reports that don’t reflect the tragedy of men and women who exhaust their unemployment benefits and become lost numbers in headlines that claim Americans are back to work again.
The drama of the game that delays the inevitable through freezing foreclosures which only makes the stats look good for a period of time before the landslide hits in a doomsday scenario.
The drama of the truth that appears months after the oil well is capped and reports of cover ups surface for the world to see.
Even with all these pieces of the puzzle slapping our representatives in the face it is still business as usual on Capitol Hill.
The business of looking for hope, change and transparency during the job interview but not putting words to action during a term of service.
In the face of mistakes that have been vetted by the public as unfavorable in the creation of nationwide rallies to curb the spending, arrogance and false bravado both sides of the conversation have failed to see the writing on the wall.
The writing that spells out the urgency of now and how bad it will be if the representatives of the people don’t figure out a way to sit down at the table of understanding and work out plans for the people and not their own self or party interests.
The problems happening on the streets of America are a reflection of the way the government has been run.
Divided houses with separate agendas for the most powerful nation in the world that has been slowly losing a piece of that standing for every year our politicians choose to fall on their swords rather than living up to standards the American people expect them to live up to.
If there was ever a time for a bi-partisan effort to kick our elected representatives in the butt to understand the destruction that has been caused by their own arrogance and the destruction that is to come that time would be now.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to connect the dots of the puzzle in this matter nor will it take a Zen master to show a divided nation how we are only making the situation worse by not looking at all sides of the situation.
A situation that is spiraling out of control with the gridlock that is to come in a few months and the sad state of affairs we have dug ourselves into.
Today’s article is a response to a pair of Fox News.com internet posts which can be read by following the links below.
