Politics and Culture - American Profiles In Radical Independence

“I do not want my house to be walled in on all sides and my windows to be stuffed. I want the cultures of all the lands to be blown about my house as freely as possible. But I refuse to be blown off my feet by any.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi

A Conversation of an Environmental Nature

February 17th 2010 10:41
For every conversation of global concern there are buzz words that muddy the issue.

Buzz Words that frame arguments into broad terms of this or that and lead us onto the path of misunderstanding.

Misunderstanding in remembering the true roots of why we came to the conversation of fixing the problems created when expediency replaced our duty to take care of the planet that nurtures life.

Life beyond what some people feel is a right to live without concern for the impact we have already left on the planet and how the affects of this are still playing themselves out to this very day.

Affects that amount to more than concerning ourselves with how a record breaking winter reflects on the reputations of Al Gore and Scientists who spent a life time convincing us that the Earth is spiraling into a warming chaos.

In the conversation about the Earth’s Evolution, what we need to ask ourselves is the simple question of if things are getting better or if we are fooling ourselves into finding false clues to only divert our minds from the realities of the things we already see happening.

Realities in the warming of Polar Regions which has sparked a Domino Affect in weather patterns across the globe.

I would be a fool if I sat here and defended the endless amount of inflated data that has been used to bring international coverage to the issue.

Data that has been proven as nothing more than embellishments to scare us and governments across the globe to fund people’s reputations.

Beyond these obvious signs of trickery is a conversation…

A conversation about the things that happen after the Polar Ice Caps reach an ultimate point of deterioration and the Earth has no choice but to rebalance herself.

Balance by way of rectifying a cycle of Global Warming with a cycle of Cooling in other parts of the globe.

If we branch past the non media coverage of this phenomenon we will notice a trend of warming in places that have been at Ground Zero of the Global Warming Epidemic which has been met with a Cycle of Cooling in places traditionally known for warmer weather.

While one could say that these cycles are natural for our planet there can be no argument about the impact added by the footprint of the human race.

Before anyone can point to the Snowtastrophe, Snowmagedon or Snowpocalypse in the Southern regions of the United States as a cause to abandon all theories of environmental concern there has to come a time and place for us to look at the clues in front of our faces.

Clues that show us the disappearance of Animal Species from the planet because of temperature variations across the globe and a society that is reverting back to a dangerous past.

A dangerous past when society held onto the false belief that human footprints had no correlation to the acts of nature…

For as far as we have come we can just as easily revert back to destructive nature that existed in yesteryear if we continue to associate the warnings we are receiving with the names and reputations of political figures.

The concern that should be coming from every corner of the globe does not have a Republican, Democrat, American, French or Chinese face.

It has the face of the human race and the responsibility of each and every being on the planet to answer the call to do their part in trying to fix the mess instead of working against progress.

Progress that can only come when we wake up and find ways to come together on environmental issues instead of using our concern as political wedges to wage one political party or politician against another.

The time for us to get it right is now.

We have the technology, minds, open hearts and global support behind the cause but need to find a way to get past ourselves to get it done.
