“Every good act is charity. A man's true wealth hereafter is the good that he does in this world to his fellows.”

Throughout the year of 2009 we’ve been coming here to have a discussion about everyone’s need to be involved with helping our fellow man, woman and child.
In this discussion has been a break down of hot button societal topics that have tugged at the heart strings of many of you as it has evoked memories of lost or suffering loved ones who had to deal with personal battles against insurmountable odds.
For every time the odds are stacked up against us is an opportunity to think outside of the box in the greater picture of the fight.
Whether it’s Cancer, AIDS, Homelessness, finding ways for the mentally handicapped to gain societal skills or any other issues where our philanthropy can directly impact the lives of others it is our duty to do everything we can to help our fellow man, woman and child.
Helping does not always entail emptying out already stretched pockets for a cause but can be simply broken down to adding thoughts about how we can help orgainizations that are already doing so much to our daily or weekly routines.
Thoughts about a disease that is killing someone’s mother, father, sister or brother somewhere in the world every day around the globe.
Thoughts about an epidemic of homelessness that is growing at a faster pace with every announcement of a store closing or an increase in the jobless index.
Thoughts about what we can do in our local community that can directly help our fellow man, woman or child live an independent life with a proper education that supplies them with needed life skills.
The list of things we can all do to help the myriad of causes that are affecting our fellow Americans is endless but we can not let its size blind us from what needs to be done.
It’s only when we throw our hands up in the air and say its too large of a task or claim that there is no end game in sight that we lose our humanity as a society.
The same humanity that will bend over backwards to house, cloth and take in a stranger simply because it was the right thing to do.
We have to keep our goals large but we also must do everything we can to help the people in the fight along the way.
The people who need our loving hearts to get back on their feet again…
As long as we remember the reasons why we come to this place to fight for causes we can never be defeated as a society by any disease or economic crisis.
These are the things we must carry with us if we are ever going to eradicate diseases like Cancer and AIDS and it will take the hope, understanding and perseverance of each and every one us to make this a possibility.
