Problems with the Necessities

Of all the problems in the world there is nothing more serious than the damage being done to the things that are keeping us alive.
Whether it’s the damage done to the Ocean and Freshwater sources, pollutants we breathe in everyday or the sad nature of the Industrialized Food Industry; each and every man, woman and child on the planet is being caused daily harm because of a lack of action from people in free nations.
While it may be easy to talk about greed, laziness and broken systems of government being the root of the problem on this important issue it has become apparent that the only way to fix this epidemic is for the people of the world to understand the problem and to do something about it.
The problem of corporations being allowed to make their own rules concerning pesticides used on crops, chemicals that are added to food, the use of genetic modifications, how the food we feed are children are raised, cared for, slaughtered and kept disease free.
All of these things are causing an adverse effect on the health of people around the world.
Obesity rates are at levels the world has never seen before; Cancer and Heart Disease rates continue to rise and Diabetes has become common place on some parts of the planet.
To try and understand the reasons for these changes we choose to classify the problem as genetic, societal or a choice when our focus should be on the food and chemicals that are in our food that weren’t there 20-30 years ago.
Preservatives, pesticides, steroids, hormones, antibiotics, genetically modified food and unpronounceable chemical combinations are a causing laundry list of health problems governments around the world have chosen to ignore to allow the people of their nations to go on living their lives in ignorance.
Ignorance that allows the money donated to political campaigns and given to influence legislative agendas to continue rolling in from the companies that are doing damage to the health of the people around the world.
The proof is all around us but we choose to look at an epidemic through the eyes of circumstance instead of the things that are staring us directly in the face.
The time to take back our freedom to live healthy lives is running out.
If things keep going the way they’re going there will not be any options beyond being forced to accept choices that are making us sick or being one of the privileged few that can afford a healthy lifestyle.
There is no amount of exercise, marketing campaigns, fundraisers or quick fixes that can help us escape from the truth.
The truth that will always come back to the need for the people of the world that have the unique privilege of living in free nations to begin to take control of the situation in the countries they live.
Until the people of the world do this we are choosing to be victims instead of the people our governments were designed to work for.
