Politics and Culture - American Profiles In Radical Independence

“I do not want my house to be walled in on all sides and my windows to be stuffed. I want the cultures of all the lands to be blown about my house as freely as possible. But I refuse to be blown off my feet by any.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Fredericksburg “Pink Out” Week

February 19th 2010 13:02
In a month dedicated to rallying communities together in honor of Breast Cancer Survivors, lives lost and men and women still in the fight worldwide it is only fitting that we honor the cause with a week long celebration.

A celebration that brings it all together in honor of a survivor who now has to fight another form of cancer.

The name of this survivor is Sarah Love and it is with great honor that I am inviting each and every one of you to be part of not one but two events next week to help raise money and awareness to help a grandmother, friend, neighbor and breast cancer survivor.

While the entire month of February has and will continue to feature Deluxe Nacho’s and a Pink Ta Ta Drink that will donate $1.00 to the Sarah Love Fund for every purchase...

This Wednesday February 24, 2010 and Saturday February 27, 2010 will be the time where we put words to action.

Action in the form of competitions, direct fundraisers and a celebration in honor of all Breast Cancer Survivors, lives lost and men and women still in the fight as we close out Fredericksburg “Pink Out” Month.

A month where we have been encouraging everyone to make it down to Happy Endings Bar and Grill wearing pink to show support for the cause of Breast Cancer Awareness while also opening up their hearts to help Sarah Love.

On the night of Wednesday February 24, 2010 at 9:00 pm we will be teaming up with Awareness Event MC Matt Heiler and Exophonic Entertainment in bringing the 15 Minutes of Fame Charity Show II to Happy Endings Bar & Grill located at 1315 Princess Anne Street in Fredericksburg, VA.

An event where contestants can compete by way of singing, dancing, freestyle rapping, playing the guitar or bringing any other talents to the stage in the name of raising money and awareness for a fellow citizen in need.

Money that will help Sarah Love who has already fought and won a battle against Breast Cancer gain needed funding in her latest battle against Bone Cancer.

While we could have depended on one night of celebration in this cause it was only fitting that we honor a movement as important as raising awareness for Breast Cancer with one last great bang.

An evening of celebration on Saturday February 27, 2010 featuring DJ The Don and the legendary Awareness Dance Party.

Both events are strictly 21 and up and will have no cover charge or entry free.

There is something to be said about the money that will be raised this month to help a Fredericksburg, VA resident but there is much more to be said for the need of your support in helping the cause.

Support that has been asked for and received through the generosity of the Fredericksburg Community and beyond but we still need more.

In this one last week of Awareness we need you to continue to push this movement all the way to the finish line at bar closing on Sunday February 28, 2010.

This push can be something as simple as e-mailing the link of this blog post to your friends, reposting it on your Facebook, Twitter or Myspace Accounts or by simply stopping into Happy Endings Bar & Grill located at 1315 Princess Anne Street in Fredericksburg, VA.and purchasing one of the two featured items or through direct donation.

It’s the simple things that will make or break this movement.

Simple things that could help the life of one of our own who is need of our generosity.

The Sarah Love Fund is a non profit fund dedicated to raising money and awareness for Sarah Love and all other Breast Cancer Survivors.

You can help by directly donating to the Sarah Love Fund PO Box 1072 King George, VA, 22485 or by donating through their webpage located at www.thesarahlovecancerfund.org
