Awareness Event 2009 Winter Schedule of Events Special Announcement
October 2nd 2009 14:14
The coming of the holiday season is meant to be a time of joyous celebration in reflection of all the things in our lives we should be thankful for. Through this praise of all the miracles we have in our personal lives a piece of ourselves should also be reserved to give helping hands to the men, women and children who are going through personal struggles during the most jubilant time of the year.
It is with this spirit that I am proud to announce the next phase of the Awareness Event.
In this phase we are looking to give back to the men and women who pour blood sweat and tears to ensure that food makes it way to our dinner plates while also working to ensure that a child’s one last wish is granted to give them a break from a reality that has filled their young lives with daily pain, suffering and struggle.
The Farmers Fighting Cancer Awareness Rock Show Series is an event that branches off from the work that was previously put into our Breast Cancer Awareness Rock Shows.
Work that helped to raise over $3,000.00 for the cause of giving muscle to the fight against a faceless killer…
In this upcoming series of events the enemy remains the same as we are looking to raise needed money to help farmers maintain their craft while all their time and energy is focused on the fight for survival.
Money raised from this event will help keep farms open, defer expenses for medical treatments and will also help improve quality of life for members of our society who were at one point the backbone of our national economy.
The chosen weapon in this fight is the gift of music.
We are proud to welcome back the headlining act of Awareness Event Series 2009 With Haste to rock the stage of Buffalo Wild Wings Fredericksburg.
The band known for gracing the stages of Warped Tour 2009 will be sharing the stage with The Dead End Drop Outs and a band well known in the Fredericksburg Region and beyond Elisium.
The people in the conversation who had the privilege of witnessing the story of hope, love and compassion of Awareness Event Series 2009 have a clear understanding of the ground breaking announcement that is taking place today.
Our goal is to exceed all fundraising totals raised in the five day event that helped a team of women meet their goals for the Susan G. Komen Three Day Walk for a Cure.
To do this we will need the support of each and every person reading this by way of spreading the word about the good things that are coming to Buffalo Wild Wings Fredericksburg, VA on the night of November 20, 2009 and by also coming to see a three band rock show for the small cost of a $5.00 cover charge that will go to help farmers in need.
As a warm-up for the Farmers Fighting Cancer Awareness Rock Show Series we have enlisted the help of Exsalonce Salon & Day Spa in Stafford, VA through an event that will directly benefit children recovering from the fight against cancer.
Through this Cuts for Cancer Event we are inviting the local community to come out and donate hair that will be given directly to children in the form of wigs.
The process of making these wigs is costly which is why we are asking for a $20.00 donation which will be sent along with your clips of hair to be created into a wig for a child who has survived the greatest fight of his or her young life.
If you would like to support Cancer Awareness Month we are also offering a red streak that could be placed in her hair for the price of $15.00 which will also be donated to the cause as well.
This Cuts for Cancer event will take place November 2, 2009 between the Noon and 5:00pm at Exsalonce Salon and Day Spa.
Exsalonce Salon and Day Spa is located at 60 Susa Dr, Suite 119 Stafford, VA.
For more information about this event you can call the Salon directly at (540) 720-8500.
On the night of December 11, 2009 the story of hope, compassion and love continues as Awareness Event teams up with Plan Ahead Events Inc. to raise money for the Make a Wish Foundation.
Money that will be put towards granting the wish of a terminally ill child...
The strength of the work this organization does sounds like a fairy tale story but its impact can never have a value placed on it.
An impact that puts smiles on the faces of children in the fight against terminal diseases as they have the deserved honor of getting a day filled with all their wishes coming true.
Wishes that could have never have been granted without the love and generosity of donations from the community to support a group that tirelessly works for the benefit of making a child’s dreams come true.
With this spirit I am proud to make the formal announcement concerning the 15 Minutes of Fame Charity Show.
A night of fun and excitement that will include a contest to raise money for the Make a Wish Foundation….
Through a contest that will blend elements of Karaoke, American Idol, America’s Got Talent and the Gong Show Awareness Event will be laying down the challenge to find the best talent in the Fredericksburg Region.
By talent we mean “talent” in all its various forms.
Some examples would be dancers, comedians, singers, contortionists, bulk eaters, purveyors of human body tricks but we feel it would be best if you decide what your definition of talent is and bring it to the stage of Buffalo Wild Wings to have a chance at the $500.00 cash prize!!!!
The only stipulation for entry into this event is that all contestants be 18 and sign up at Buffalo Wild Wings located at 1638 Carl D Silver Parkway Fredericksburg, VA between the dates of October 20, and December 1, 2009.
All contestants will be asked for a point of contact for us to confirm entry into the contest and to list the talent they would like to compete with.
There will be a $5.00 cover for this 18 event that begins at 9:00 pm on the night of December 11, 2009.
We are hoping to share nights and days of celebration with each and every one of you as we are looking to work hand in hand to raise money for three worthy causes.
Causes that need your support whether or not you’re able to physically make it to Buffalo Wild Fredericksburg or Exsalonce Salon & Day Spa.
